if you think about it... vanilla wow had a lot of great encounters
rag - doing a clean sons phase and having enough dps to bring him down was such a rush.
vael - the original cockblock gangsta. brilliant fight till this day.
nef - first fight which actually introduced 'lots of phases' properly and did it well.
twin emps - e.p.i.c. as a healer it was 20 minutes of not breathing.
c'thun - the most challenging and rewarding encounter to date.
and vanilla naxx was awesome... super challenging... fights like gluth, thaddius and loatheb were insanely difficult and beautifully tuned. 4 horsemen was a 25 minute fight that required immense concentration and execution. vanilla saph + KT were too much of a gear check unfortunately.
in comparison, TBC wasn't half bad either...
hydross - a cool concept. (get it 'cool', cuz we needed frost resist n'yuk-yuk).
karathres - i thought was fun to learn as well and strained our healers / tanks a bit initially.
vashj - excellent! very different and fun. tossing cores, kiting striders, limes dying, kreov picking it up. good times.
kael'thas - up there in the c'thun class level in my opinion. required so much coordination to learn and execute.
and then unfortunately, all of hyjal blew, and BT wasn't much better.
which then brings us to wotlk.
